Contemporary British artists are celebrated worldwide for their willingness to shock but fear prevents them from dealing with Islamic fundamentalism. Grayson Perry, the cross-dressing potter, Turner Prize winner and former Times columnist, said he had consciously avoided commenting radical Islam in the body of another work very provocative because of the threat of retaliation.
Perry also believes that many of his colleagues' dodged the question, and a leading director of the gallery, said the British Times that a few large rooms are prepared to show potentially inflammatory works.
"I censored myself," Perry said in a debate organized on the arts and politics through the Art Fund. "The reasonthe son that I am all for attacking Islamism in my art done, because I really fear the feeling that someone will kill.

Yes, and China and Russia have self-censorship to avoid offending insult to the government and self-censorship in the United States, African-Americans, etc., when the artists have no value own censorship. Thus, Yahoo!
shows how stupid people get when they are not allowed to speak their mind.kinda grief and a good example of why socialism does not work period.
Artists have always created a political environment. That makes the work is so important - the ability to talk politics, too. Not the creation of a work and therefore know who is a sort of otherwise well-politicized.
People like Salman Rushdie has had on both sides of the equation - His name is synonymous with the theme, but few have read his books. This has a successful artist because he has published several books, because they are the issues that you care passed?
Finally, I would like an art lover, no problem. The artists will find a way to create, could not be easy, what you expect from them, or what is expected of them.
